City of Heroes expansion drops August 17

Massively multiplayer online game publisher NCsoft shot us a press release this morning confirming a release date for the second major City of Heroes expansion, Going Rogue. To celebrate the upcoming launch, developer Paragon Studios has an extensive San Diego Comic Con lineup planned.

Naturally, show attendees get hands-on time with the expansion at Comic Con. To round that out, Paragon and PC gaming peripheral manufacturer Razer will host giveaways of real life and in-game items, meet-and-greets with the Going Rogue developers, a community member party/preview event at the Hard Rock Hotel on Friday, July 23, and a chance to watch game and comic book artist David Nakayama at work. Additionally, Going Rogue devs are on a panel called “Reinventing a Superheroic MMO” which takes place Thursday, July 22.
