Dead Space 2 may not be due out until 2011, but the franchise will still be headed to consoles in 2010, as EA has announced a downloadable game entitled Dead Space Ignition for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.

No assets for the Ignition have revealed as of yet, but EA’s official announcement promises an “interactive comic-style story.” A few elements of the gameplay were also revealed, as the game will incorporate three hacking puzzle games and a “Choose Your Own Adventure” method of storytelling.

The aforementioned narrative structure will allow Ignition include four different endings. Earning each ending will unlock a different suit for Isaac in Dead Space 2, which is set to release a few months after Ignition on January 25, 2011.

No price has been set for Ignition, and the release is currently scheduled for the Fall. The game is being developed by Sumo Digital, best known for creating the recent Sega All-Stars games.
