Valve Reveals The Sacrifice DLC For Both Left 4 Deads

Even before the launch of Left 4 Dead 2: The Passing DLC, Valve promised that it will continue to support the original Left 4 Dead game by releasing a DLC episode that will allow us to see how one of the original characters died and how the remaining cast came to be included in left 4 Dead 2 The Passing.
Today Valve announced that this new Left 4 Dead downloadable episode will be called “The Sacrifice” and that it will be compatible with both Left 4 Dead games.
Left 4 Dead: The Sacrifice DLC tells the story of The Passing, from the original cast’s point of view. I guess every Left 4 Dead fan was eager to find out how the “originals” managed to meet up with the other 4 survivors and The Sacrifice will definitely tell that story…and more. We’ll even be able to choose who lives and who dies, who makes the ultimate sacrifice and who lives to shoot zombies another day.
Left 4 Dead: The Sacrifice will also include an updated version of the “No Mercy” campaign from the first game, and make it playable for Left 4 Dead 2 owners. This makes sense as Valve stated that Left 4 Dead: The Sacrifice is designed to work with both Left 4 Dead games.
The Left 4 Dead: Sacrifice release date is “sometime” in October 2010. This new expansion will be free for the PC and Mac while Xbox owners will have to spend some Microsoft Points on it.
Next month Valve will also launch a Left 4 Dead digital comic book that will get everybody up to speed with the story and will probably also include some new background info.
