Black Ops to feature the voices of Hollywood veterans Gary Oldman and Ed Harris
Activision and Treyarch has enlisted the aid of two popular Hollywood actors to play roles in Call of Duty: Black Ops. Gary Oldman (Harry PotterThe Dark Knight, The Book of Eli) and Ed Harris (Apollo 13, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, Appaloosa) will play main characters in the single-player campaign of Black Ops.
Oldman will once again be playing the role of Viktor Reznov from Call of Duty: World at War. Reznov was the Soviet sergeant who served as Dimitri’s war mentor in World at War. Harris will be playing a CIA operative named Jason Hudson. Main characters from the campaign usually have voice over roles in multiplayer. It’s unconfirmed at this time whether Harris or Oldman will lend their voices for multiplayer.
Black Ops is also getting a top notch screenwriter in David S. Goyer. Goyer was wrote the screenplays for The Dark Knight, Superman: Man of Steel and did some comic book writing for The Flash. Goyer is attached to the game as a script consultant in addition to helping out on story development.
It’s no surprise famous actors are once again featured in a CoD game. It has acquired actors such as Keith David and Kiefer Sutherland in past games. That’s the motto of CoD these days – big budgets, big names and addictive multiplayer.
Call of Duty: Black Ops releases November 9, 2010 for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, and PC.
