Indie hit Minecraft makes $350,000 in one day

Indie world-building game Minecraft has reportedly generated $350,000 in sales in a single day.
Swedish game maker Markus Persson said one copy of the €9.95 (NZ$21.30) PC and Mac title is currently being purchased every three seconds, Texyt reports.
Minecraft places players in a visually simple, large and hostile world in which they have to build tools and find resources to survive. Multiplayer modes allow users to collaborate or compete.
“It all feels unreal. I thought I could make a living from the game, but I did not expect to become rich,” said Persson, who has reportedly declined job offers from developers including Valve and Bungie.
The game has been in development for more than a year and is currently in the alpha phase, with a beta version due soon. When complete Persson said he plans to double the price to €19.95 (NZ$42.60).
