Witcher 2 confirmed for May 17 release

The sequel to the cult favorite PC RPG The Witcher has been given a firm release date. Developer CD Projekt says The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will be out in May.

The date is apparently a few week later than the team had originally planned. Project lead Adam Badowski said that the delay was to allow for additional polishing. That should come as a welcome relief to fans, as the original game was well-known for its rampant technical problems.

CD Projekt is also teasing details on the game’s Collector’s Edition via a streaming conference set to begin at 12:30 PM EST on November 18. The conference will be available on the official site and the game’s Facebook page.

The Witcher 2 will be out May 17 on the PC.
