No western release planned for Catherine

Publisher pours cold water on calls for erotic horror puzzler’s western release; says no plans “at this time”.

Atlus, publisher of Team Persona’s baffling erotic horror game Catherine, has said it has no plans to release the game in the West.

The publisher issued a brief statement to Beefjack saying: “Catherine is a Japan-only game and there are no plans for a North American release at this time. Sorry about that!”

Catherine has been a resounding success in Japan, entering the charts this week at number one.

Of course, the key phrase here is “at this time”, and given the Persona series’ loyal following a Western release at some point appears a safe bet.
