It looks like we will once again be reminded to be cautious if a computer asks “Would you like to play a game?”

It has been reported that director Seth Gordon—no novice of games after helming King of Kong—has been set to lead MGM’s remake of the 1983 film, WarGames. This modern update comes just five years after the studio revealed a straight-to-DVD sequel by way of WarGames: The Dead Code.

Matthew Broderick starred in the original ’83 film as a young computer genius who hacks into a government system and, thinking it all a game, accidentally initiates a computerized countdown to a nuclear weapons launch.
