Sony announced it has purchased the studio behind the PS3 open-world action series inFamous. Sucker Punch Productions will join the company’s Worldwide Studios division, Sony revealed.
“Sucker Punch Productions is one of the most highly acclaimed development studios in the industry, and we have enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the company for over 12 years,” says Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, in the statement.
Along with the inFamous franchise for PS3, Sucker Punch is also known for the Sly Cooper action series for the PlayStation 2.
Sucker Punch joins a growing list of prominent development houses under Worldwide Studios, including Naughty Dog (Uncharted), Guerrilla Games (Killzone), Media Molecule (LittleBigPlanet), Polyphony Digital (Gran Turismo) and Sony Santa Monica (God of War).
