Modern Warfare 3 officially announced for Wii

Wii fans who were upset at missing out on Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 received some great news today. Activision has confirmed that a Wii version of Modern Warfare 3 is in the works, and will launch alongside the previously-announced versions.

Publishing exec Eric Hirshberg revealed the news during an investor call today, saying that Activision plan to release the game on Nintendo’s system “so as not to leave any of the community out of the excitement.”

Activision hasn’t yet announced who will be handling the port, though Treyarch has produced Wii versions of both Black Ops and Modern Warfare in the past.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is scheduled to release on multiple platforms from November 8th.
