No Battlefield 1943 in PS3 version of Battlefield 3

Remember back at E3 when it was announced that the PlayStation 3 limited edition version of Battlefield 3 would ship with Battlefield 1943? Well, sadly, it appears that EA have gone back on their promise and chosen not to include the popular WWII shooter.

The Battlefield Twitter account has said that EA plan to make it up to PS3 users by offering early access to the planned Battlefield 3 expansions – presumably on top of the one-week exclusivity period already promised.

So, instead of getting a free game, PS3 owners now get to pay for content early. Is this really a fair trade-off?

Battlefield 3 will be released on October 28th.
