First Look: Minecraft on the Xbox 360

When it was first announced that Minecraft would be coming to Xbox 360 via Xbox Live Arcade, some Minecraft fans were doubtful that the immersive experience could make the transition to consoles.

But today during the opening keynote at MineCon in Las Vegas, a new trailer was revealed that shows developer Mojang who appear to be over the moon with the Xbox build of the game.

The XBLA version appears to support a more dynamic crafting system. Rather that dragging and dropping materials onto a grid to create objects and tools, the player simply scrolls through a menu of available items.

Minecraft for XBLA will be available in next year, while the full game of Minecraft is officially released today.
