Call of Juarez headed back to the Wild West

Call of Juarez: The Cartel, which released back in July, abandoned the series’ traditional Western setting in favour of a modern day backdrop, and it’s fair to say that the results were fairly mixed.

Now it looks like Ubisoft is looking to gather some customer feedback before moving ahead with the next Call of Juarez title.

Ubisoft has distributed questionnaires to gamers with Call of Juarez: The Cartel and a Uplay account. The survey indicated that Ubisoft is considering returning the game to its Wild West roots.

The surveys questions gamers to rate the following gameplay scenarios:

  • Hunting an outlaw in the Rocky Mountains
  • Defending a ranch attacked by Mexican pistolleros
  • Preventing a bank robbery
  • Rescuing an innocent man about to be hanged up
  • Taking part in a shooting contest
  • A gun duel in the empty main street of a town against your worst enemy
  • Guarding a fort against a group of outlaws
  • Helping a man to escape from the sheriff’s office
  • Defending a train attacked by Native Americans on horses
  • A gunfight in a saloon after a poker game
  • Preventing outlaws from pillaging a gold mine
  • A fusillade between lawmen and outlaws

Are you happy to see the franchise return to the Wild West, or would you prefer to see Ubisoft try to persist with the modern day setting?
