South Park RPG announced for PS3, Xbox 360

The new issue of Game Informer has revealed a brand new South Park role-playing game coming to Xbox 360 and PS3.

Game Informer’s upcoming January issue will offer a first look at the THQ-published game. Series creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are writing the script, performing the dialogue, and overseeing the development of the game.

South Park: The Game is a “full-scale RPG” for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 being developed by Obsidian Entertainment, developers of Dungeon Siege III, Neverwinter Nights 2, Fallout: New Vegas, and Alpha Protocol.
In the game, players will take on the role of the new kid in South Park. You’ll have to befriend some of the locals and also help defend the town from danger.

South Park will be released in 2012. The Game Informer issue with more details will be out next week.
