Square Enix trademarks Hitman Sniper Challenge

Square Enix has trademarked something called Hitman Sniper Challenge, sparking speculation of a new Hitman title, possibly for PlayStation Move, Kinect or both.

While IO Interactive is working on Hitman: Absolution, Square recently announced plans to open a new Montreal studio this year. Its first project will be “a new premium quality game” in the Hitman franchise.

IO Interactive studio head, Niels Sorensen, has said the part of the studio will be moving on to a new IP after it has wrapped up work on Hitman: Absolution.

Hitman Absolution is set to launch sometime this year for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
