BioWare details the first Mass Effect 3 DLC
This week it was revealed that BioWare’s upcoming RPG Mass Effect 3 will have a DLC pack that will be released on the same date that the game launches, which has caused a bit of a stir with some fans.
Today BioWare has responded, releasing a few details on the DLC in an attempt to reassure fans that they’re not being sold an incomplete game.
“‘From Ashes includes the Prothean squad mate, an adventure on Eden Prime, a new weapon, and an alternate appearance for every squad mate,” said producer Mike Gamble on the BioWare Social Network. “The Collector’s Edition has been advertised from the beginning as containing a bonus character/mission, but we were not at liberty to provide the details. The Prothean is optional content that is certainly designed to appeal to long-time fans, which is why he is part of the CE offering (the version many fans would be likely to purchase).”
“Mass Effect 3 is a complete – and a huge game – right out of the box.”
People who purchase the Mass Effect 3 Collector’s Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition will be able to download this DLC pack for free, but everyone else will have to buy it. BioWare hasn’t revealed the price for the DLC yet, but that information will likely be released soon.
Mass Effect 3 releases on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in March 6 in the US, March 8 in Australasia and March 9 in Europe.
