Halo 2 Halo 2 Anniversary Edition in development at 343According to rumours, Halo 4 developers 343 Industries are also currently working on a Halo 2: Anniversary Edition.

The news comes via a leak of the Official Xbox Magazine, which states: “Following the success of remake Halo: Anniversary, 343 Industries has now started development of Halo 2: Anniversary.”

While nothing official has been confirmed, it’s likely that there is some truth to these rumours. Last year’s Halo Anniversary title was a genuine success, shifting around 1.5 million copies.

343 Industries were involved in the development of that game, which used the Halo: Reach engine, adding online multiplayer, achievements and Kinect support.

If 343 follows the same pattern that they did with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2 will hit stores on its 10th anniversary, November 9th, 2014.
