Dawnguard2 Skyrim Dawnguard DLC arrives on Steam

Bethesda announced at QuakeCon today that Dawnguard, the first official game add-on for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is now available to PC users.

The Vampire Lord Harkon has returned to power. Using the Elder Scrolls, he seeks to do the unthinkable – to end the sun itself. Will you join the ancient order of the Dawnguard and stop him, or will you yourself become a Vampire Lord? Featuring an all new faction questline, new locations, weapons, creatures and more; the ultimate choice will be yours.

There’s still no release announcement for PS3 fans – Bethesda are still reportedly not satisfied with how Dawnguard is playing on Sony’s console.

“We are not satisfied yet with Dawnguard’s performance on the PS3. We would like for everyone to have a chance to play Dawnguard, but we aren’t going to release it for PS3 knowing that some people’s experience in Skyrim will be worse”, said Bethesda VP Pete Hines on the official Bethesda Blog.

“We do everything we can to have our content available to all; from our free updates, to user mods, to paid DLC. We’re as disappointed as our fans when that isn’t the case, but we’ll continue to push for that reality”, he added.

Dawnguard is now available for download on Steam for $19.99.
