Bayonetta 2 Bayonetta 2 exclusive to Wii U, fans not amusedNintendo announced that they have secured a deal for Bayonetta 2 to be a Wii U exclusive and will be publishing it themselves.

The development is being handled by Platinum Games and while no official release date has been announced, Nintendo promised that we should hear more about it soon.

Platinum responded to some of the criticism that followed saying that it was “aware that the announcement may have come as a shock” and that the company had “no intention of alienating” fans, adding that they were excited about the new partnership with Nintendo, describing them as “dedicated to establishing a new future for the games industry.”

“Bayonetta is a brand that we want to see become stronger, reaching the hands of more and more gamers, so we have continued to consult with SEGA, the previous game’s publisher, on how we can make sure this takes place. Our answer was a new partnership with Nintendo”, Platinum said in their press release.
