Mirror’s Edge 2 already in development at DICE

Speculation surrounding a new Mirror’s Edge project has been circulating for years and EA has repeatedly said that it hasn’t abandoned the series. Now a former EA employee has confirmed that Mirror’s Edge 2 is currently in production at DICE.

Former EA manager Ben Cousins stated on Twitter.  ”It is general knowledge in the Stockholm dev scene that Mirror’s Edge 2 is in production at DICE.”

While there have been no official announcements from EA this would tie in with recent comments from EA’s senior vice president, Patrick Soderlund who said that DICE doesn’t want to be a “Battlefield Factory”, and the studio is currently working on non-Battlefield 3 gamers.

“I loved Mirror’s Edge and what we did with Mirror’s Edge,” said Soderlund back in June of this year. “We have not abandoned the franchise. And we are working on something, but I’m not willing to talk more about that.”

The original Mirror’s Edge did fairly well critically, receiving a final Metacritic score of 79/100.
