Back in February, when Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was still just a rumour, a leaked image of a Todd McFarlane poster was doing the rounds and fuelling the fires of speculation about Ubisoft’s next installment in the blockbuster series.
Now that poster has been revealed in hi-res – the poster shows new protagonist Edward Kenway with weapons drawn, flanked by two pirates. The striking image features McFarlane’s trademark eye for detail.
Earlier this year McFarlane Toys announced a licensing agreement to bring Assassin’s Creed figurines to store shelves.
“With the new hero and new setting we are creating the boldest and most unique Assassin’s Creed game yet, while still respecting the pillars of the franchise that have made it such a fan favourite,” said Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer at Ubisoft. “Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is based on a true, harsh and exciting part of a legendary era and will thrill longtime fans and newcomers alike.”
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag launches October 29.
